I didn't like my idea so I deleted it
Your idea was about volunteering at the local food bank... personally speaking, I loved it!!
Oh, well I deleted it because the artice below "Comunity Service Ideas" said suggest ideas that we can do during house day. I reread it and decided to delete it because of that reason
House Day could possibly mean ROAD TRIP (Yeah!)... on a school bus (booo!). Not sure that it will happen, but no need to limit the ideas at this point.
Alright. Maybe we can volunter at a homeless shelter, soup kitchen or nursing home. Personly, I'd want to volunter at a soup kitchen. Mostly everyone I know likes cooking so it would be helpful to the comunity and everyone would have fun.
Bryanne,
This idea came up at our last student council meeting. The kids talked about busing one group to the soup kitchen, one group to a nursing home, one group to a nursery school or the Neighborhood House, etc. Split everyone up and let them do some actually volunteering. So, you aren't alone in thinking this could be a good plan. We need to flesh it out though and think of ALL of the logistics of such a plan.
I know this idea might be alittle late, but when I was in fifth grade on Thanksgiving we invited some nursing homes over to our school and we celebrated thanks with them and we learned about they went through. I find that we as a house should try that.
Maybe for Christmas or something?
Um..maybe holidays. Not everyone celebrates christmas you know
What if we bus the chourus to a nursing home, veterans home, homeless shelter, etc.? If we are quick we can pull things together before the chorus concert, it will be good practice for the chourus and we can make less fortunate people happier! If not, we can go after and we can still make some pele happy.
